Tulsans
are proud of the fact that were continuing to preserve our history
while creating a new legacy for our city. Just look at what some Tulsans
have to say about TDA's program of work
Jamie Jamison On the Village at Central Park.
Speaking for the Village at Central Park development team, Jamie Jamieson
says, "We relish this opportunity to play such a visible role in
the inner city's revitalization. The Village will reinvent true urban
living in Tulsa. Its a return to traditional city living: shops within
walking distance of home, sidewalks, alleys, a wide range of homes for
different lifestyles, and plenty of architectural detailing. The icing
on the cake is the park next door and the one-minute commute to downtown.
We can hardly wait to hand over the first sets of keys.
I
love living downtown
Deidra Schleicher, a professor of psychology at the University of Tulsa,
says of her new apartment at Renaissance Uptown, I love living downtown.
It's close to everything I want to be close to: Tulsa University, where
I work, Cherry Street and Utica Square for shopping, The Performing Arts
Center, and more and more nice restaurants. I like the quaint feel and
the energy level of living in Tulsas urban center. Its great.
Reframing
Whittier Square
Dan Ziegler owner of Ziegler Art and Frame, reflects the feelings of many
Kendall-Whittier merchants: What brought the area back from the
worst of times to a viable retail center was an active partnership of
retail owners like me, along with residents, churches, City of Tulsa officials,
INCOG and the Tulsa Development Authority. Today Whittier Square has become
the core for the future prosperity of this historic area of Tulsa.
