On Thursday, April 5, 2018, the TDA Board of Commissioner’s took formal action to reject the response from the Request for Proposals for the former Laura Dester Site and authorized the City of Tulsa to proceed with measures related to demolition of the facilities. According to the Tulsa Development Authority’s Policy and Procedures, once a property has been through the RFP process and a decision has been determined by the TDA Board of Commissioner’s not to accept the response, the property is considered to be on the “Open Market.”
The TDA Board of Commissioners also took formal action to proceed with demolition of the existing structures. This process will require advertising and bidding process that could take a minimum of 60 days, and no more than 90 days from April 9, 2018.
In an attempt to be Redeveloper-Friendly, the TDA office is accepting proposals for the re-use of the existing buildings. All proposals are due by June 20, 2018, 3:00 p.m., at the TDA office, located at 1216 North Lansing Avenue, Suite D. We encourage the Redevelopers that have voiced interest in redevelopment of the facilities to prepare a formal proposal and initiate contact with TDA to ensure consideration of each proposal.
If no proposals are received on the existing buildings, TDA will move forward with demolition of the buildings.
